  • Cyber Direct Entry: A high-priority specialist path for individuals with a high technical aptitude in cyber defense.
  • Rating Apprenticeships (Standard Entry): For those looking to earn Level 2 or Level 3 qualifications in Engineering, Medical, Combat, or Hospitality roles.

Requirements and Qualifications

Accelerated Apprentice (Fast-Track)

  • Education: Level 3 Diploma (Merit or higher) in Engineering/Computing OR at least 48 UCAS points at A-Level (including a STEM subject and Math at Grade D or above).
  • Nationality: British or Dual-British national.

Cyber Direct Entry

  • Education: Proven technical aptitude or existing tech skills.
  • Vetting: You must be a British Citizen from birth (not naturalized) and be able to pass Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.

Rating Apprenticeships (Standard Entry)

  • Education: GCSE Grade 4/C in English and Math (specifically for Medical and Engineering roles).
  • Experience: No prior technical experience is required; we provide the training.

Age Limit

  • Standard & Fast-Track: Generally 17 to 25 years old.
  • Specialist Roles: Certain technical roles allow for applicants up to 39 years of age.

Salary and Benefits

Joining Bonus: Some engineering roles offer a “Golden Hello” of £5,000 – £10,000.

The journey from civilian to Royal Navy specialist follows a structured four-phase path:

  • Phase 1 (Basic Training): 10 weeks at HMS Raleigh (Plymouth) focusing on fitness, discipline, and essential sea-skills.

  • Phase 3 (Deployment): Complete your apprenticeship portfolio while stationed on a vessel at sea.
