Salary: £42,000 – £48,000 (National) | £46,000 – £51,500 (London).
2. Lawyer (Grade 7)
The standard career grade for experienced solicitors or barristers (typically 3+ years PQE).
The Role: Primary advisor to specific departments (Home Office, MoD, DHSC). Advising Ministers on legal risks and collaborating with Parliamentary Counsel on Bills.
Salary: £51,541 – £59,200 (National) | £61,200 – £71,400 (London).
3. Senior Lawyer (Grade 6)
A senior leadership and strategic management position.
The Role: Managing teams of 4–8 professionals or acting as a Subject Matter Expert in fields like Cyber Law or International Trade.
Salary: £65,000 – £75,000 (National) | £72,000 – £85,000 (London).
